The supply of energy has been a central problem for all societies since ancient times.

Until recently, the level of energy consumption was considered a yardstick for the prosperity and performance of an economy, but today we know that this is only true to a very limited extent. The leading industrial nations and companies with the most rational use of energy are now also the most efficient. This is no coincidence.
On the following pages we present our patented KSW-process® for the decentralized generation of electricity, heat, cooling and bio-fuels from biogenic residual and waste materials as well as non-food biomass in a two-stage thermochemical process.

The KSW process®

KSW Bioenergie GmbH was founded in 2004 and, as a technology and project developer, has developed and patented a decentralized "hybrid energy plant" (combined heat and power plant and biofuel production) in the form of a two-stage process (KSW Process®). It covers the entire process flow from the reception and preparation of the raw material to the production and delivery of the generated energy products .

The principle

The KSW Process® is a solution concept in which the combination of bioenergy plant and biorefinery with hybrid energy production significantly increases the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the overall plant. Only well-known technologies and components that have been tried and tested over many years are used. In the two-stage thermochemical process, carbon is extracted from the feedstock and enables the use of a very wide range of feedstocks.
